SUPUVIR Microscopy and Sensing Workshop

26-28 November 2018

The purpose of the workshop is to educate SUPUVIR students in the theory and practice of the principles of advanced microscopy techniques that use supercontinuum sources. The workshop will consist of lectures that go through the optical physics of microscopic imaging all the way to hands-on imaging and data analysis. A special focus is on the opportunities and uses for supercontinuum laser sources for biophotonics research. In addition to the technical programme, there will be transferable skills training such as public engagement (through research videos) and presentation skills training (posters and talks).

•Microscopy techniques

•Image processing and analysis skills

•Presenting imaging data

•Interdisciplinary work

Transferable skills

•Peer-to-peer learning
