We have reopened applications for fully-funded studentships to join the Sensor CDT in October 2026!
Studentship applicants must be eligible for home fees.
Our fully-funded studentship will:
- cover your University fees (at home fees level),
- provide you with a maintenance grant at the UKRI level (£21,805 pa in academic year starting October 2026), which usually increases annually and is not subject to UK income tax or national insurance,
- include a Research Training and Support Grant you can use for other training costs, such as attending a conference.
In addition, for the 2026/27 cohort, we are part of the UK TechExpert pilot, which offers an enhanced stipend of £10,000 per year above the UKRI level, alongside participation in TechExpert activities. For more information, read our news article.
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis from 12 April.

We can only consider complete applications, including references.
Applicants who have already applied this academic year should not apply again; repeat applications will not be considered.
