EPSRC CDT in Sensor Technologies for a Healthy and Sustainable Future

The purpose of the workshop is to educate SUPUVIR students in theory and practice on the principles and use of advanced microscopy techniques. The workshop will consist of lectures, that go through the optical physics of microscopic imaging all the way to application, including sample preparation and data processing. A special focus is on the opportunities and uses for supercontinuum laser sources for biophotonics research. In addition to the technical programme there transferable skills training such as public engagement and presentation skills training.

•Biological sample preparation

•Microscopy techniques

•Image processing and analysis skills

•Presenting imaging data

•Interdisciplinary work

Transferable skills

 •Peer to peer learning

•Presentation skills

•Public engagement
